Service means thinking along, always being there, showing new ways

The wine country Germany is big, but we are well-positioned and can help in all regions at the same time.

Further thinking

Service is not only to be there in case of damage but also to develop a plan when investing. With a visit on-site and intensive consultation on your work processes, ideas for the future and individual solutions.

Consideration in detail

When Andreas Flath starts a project, 3D planning is an integral part. So you and he can look at the solution together from all directions and develop it together. It is particularly well possible to incorporate the existing building structure or other machines in the concept.

Construction with a view of the users

Nothing is more dangerous for the construction of a product, as a lack of practical relevance. The core tasks of the machine must be included in the planning as well as the possible maintenance. What could be more useful therefor, than a constructor who brings a lot of practical experience?

FAQS

Any questions? We're happy to help.

The right wine press

  • Which press size fits my operation?

As simple as the question, so complicated the answer: Depending on the condition of the grapes and the grape variety, the press can be filled with 0.8 to 1.5 times their volume. So the questions remain how high is your yield and how many pressings do you want to manage during the day. Also, the capacity of other equipment such as grape basin or mash tanks should be included in the planning.

  • What are the advantages of the closed system?

Closed wine presses are more versatile due to the larger range of functions. They enable maceration periods and the reduction of the oxygen content of the grapes. This makes the processes and the press results more controlled.

  • What are the advantages of the half-open system?

Thanks to the large juicing surface a quick juice outlet is possible. The pressing process therefore takes little time and is gentle. In addition, the clear design ensures that cleaning is easy.

second hand

  • Which parts have the greatest wear?

The membrane and bearings of the press basket are the parts that should be checked on older models. The drive chain should also be checked and when needed exchanged.

  • Is the control device a risk factor?

Many of the used wine presses are now over 30 years old. Of course, electronics are also getting older in this time. Just think how fast a cellphone or other device needs to be exchanged. However, if you have a partner who can repair the controller and can also replace complete components, there is nothing to prevent the purchase of an older machine.

  • Stainless steel is virtually wear-free, but how do you get the controller up to date?

Since almost all wine presses consist out of the same components: press basket with membrane, frame, electric drive motor, compressor and suction, it is possible to provide the presses with a new control. It has the same functionality as our conventional control.

  • Are all spare parts still available?

Due to the long service life of a wine press, there may be problems with the spare parts of the installed components. Missing spare parts for a motor or compressor can quickly become a cost trap. Make sure that the service offered includes these parts.

Machine care

  • What should you check before the season?

Check the entire winepress 2-3 weeks before harvest time starts.

This leaves enough time for possible repairs.

    Check the following:

    • Does the compressor start up and deliver enough power? Inflating the membrane up to 0.5 bar is no problem for the material.
    • Is the membrane tight? Wait a short time after inflation and pay attention to a hissing noise at all corners.

Does the press basket rotate and does it stop at the right positions for pressing and filling?

    • Läuft die Absaugung und erreicht sie den benötigten Unterdruck?
    • Ist die Kette gespannt? Dies muss auf beiden Seiten des Ritzels überprüft werden, wenn die Deckel nach oben zeigen.
  • How to clean the membrane?

The best possibility to clean the membrane is whater and a mild soap. All aggressive cleaning agents and chemical helpers might damage the material.
