As simple as the question, so complicated the answer: Depending on the condition of the grapes and the grape variety, the press can be filled with 0.8 to 1.5 times their volume. So the questions remain how high is your yield and how many pressings do you want to manage during the day. Also, the capacity of other equipment such as grape basin or mash tanks should be included in the planning.
Closed wine presses are more versatile due to the larger range of functions. They enable maceration periods and the reduction of the oxygen content of the grapes. This makes the processes and the press results more controlled.
Thanks to the large juicing surface a quick juice outlet is possible. The pressing process therefore takes little time and is gentle. In addition, the clear design ensures that cleaning is easy.

What you do not have during the harvest is time. At our service hotline, you will reach competent contacts, who can help you diagnose your problem and set in motion a quick troubleshooting.
The membrane and bearings of the press basket are the parts that should be checked on older models. The drive chain should also be checked and when needed exchanged.
Many of the used wine presses are now over 30 years old. Of course, electronics are also getting older in this time. Just think how fast a cellphone or other device needs to be exchanged. However, if you have a partner who can repair the controller and can also replace complete components, there is nothing to prevent the purchase of an older machine.
Since almost all wine presses consist out of the same components: press basket with membrane, frame, electric drive motor, compressor and suction, it is possible to provide the presses with a new control. It has the same functionality as our conventional control.
Due to the long service life of a wine press, there may be problems with the spare parts of the installed components. Missing spare parts for a motor or compressor can quickly become a cost trap. Make sure that the service offered includes these parts.
Check the entire winepress 2-3 weeks before harvest time starts.
This leaves enough time for possible repairs.
Check the following:
Does the press basket rotate and does it stop at the right positions for pressing and filling?
The best possibility to clean the membrane is whater and a mild soap. All aggressive cleaning agents and chemical helpers might damage the material.
